WhereScape RED Extender

Allows DW developers to extend the capabilities of WhereScape RED by building a presentation (dining room) database for users to connect to. This package is written in SSIS, and is fully configurable by modifying the configuration database. Features include:

• Users to be able to still query the Data Warehouse, even if the RED ETL fails.
• Users to be able to have separate permissions applied, providing greater levels of security.
• Separating the concerns of the ETL from the presentation to the users.
• Allowing administrators more flexibility over storage options using Schemas and FileGroups.
• Allowing different indexes to be created and maintained for users querying the Data Warehouse, than those used for populating the Data Warehouse.
• Allowing for alternative table relationships to be defined if required.
